The objectives of this investigation is to study the effect of three types of probiotic bacteria (Lactobacilus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus casei, Bifidobacterium bifidum) on the microbiological and acceptability of Sudanese white soft cheese during storage period 0, 15, 30, 45 and 60 days. Microbiological analysis revealed that, the highest count of probiotic bacteria (87x108cfu/g) was obtained by sample containing L.rhamnosus and the lowest (39x106 cfu/g) by sample containing B.bifidum, while the sample containing L.casei ranked in intermediate position. Storage period affected the total probiotic bacteria count, the highest count at 2 weeks for L.casei and B.bfidum and after 4 weeks for L.rhamnosus, while the lowest at the end. The microbial analysis did not detect any pathogenic bacteria (coliform bacteria, salmonella and staphylococcus aureus) or yeast and molds. The sensory evaluation quality revealed that the cheese containing L.rhamnosus gave the best appearance, texture, flavour and overall acceptability, followed by L.casei and B.bifidum compared with the control samples. The storage period significantly (p=0.05) affected the acceptability of the cheese, where the highest score was obtained at day 30 and the lowest at the beginning of the storage. The study recommends further studies and tests to improve the quality of the Sudanese white soft cheese treated by probiotic bacteria.

This article provides a brief history and level of study of distance learning courses. Also, retraining and advanced training courses for executives and pedagogical staff of higher education institutions are provided with modern forms and technologies of teaching in the educational process, including distance learning, webinar technologies, automated monitoring, electronic portfolio information systems and their coverage. The research studied the performance of trainees in 214 areas of 22 retraining and advanced training centers and regional centers. In the study, the mastery data of the trainees who improved their skills in the courses for 2017-2020 were published in the form of tables and diagrams. The study also highlighted the advantages of distance learning courses and the problems that can be solved.

This study assessed the relationship between self-efficacy and job performance and satisfaction of secondary school teachers in Anambra State. Two research questions guided the study. Two null hypotheses were tested at .05 level of significance. Correlational survey research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study was 1,615 secondary school teachers in 32 state government owned secondary schools. Stratified random sampling technique was utilized to select a sample size of 485 teachers. A structured questionnaire was used for data collection. The reliability of the instrument was established using Cronbach’s alpha formula which yielded reliability coefficient values of 0.88 and 0.85. Data were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation coefficient. The results showed that there is negligible and low positive relationship between self efficacy and job performance of secondary school teachers in Anambra State. There is moderate and substantial positive relationship between self-efficacy and job satisfaction of secondary school teachers. The study further revealed that there is significant relationship between self-efficacy and job performance and satisfaction of secondary school teachers in Anambra State. Based on the findings, it was recommended among others that educational agencies and professional associations should collaborate with secondary schools to organize workshops and seminars for teachers at regular interval to strengthen abilities to ensure effective performance of teachers to achieve the objectives of secondary education as entrenched in the National Policy on Education.

Questions remain on the quality of malaria and HIV Rapid Diagnostic Test kits (RDTs) stocked and used in health facilities in Ghana. The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) in Ghana is mandated to regulate RDTs for quality. By this, all RDTs must be registered, and each brand given a unique registration number. This study aimed to assess the quality of malaria and HIV RDTs in health facilities in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana, using FDA standards. Method: Data was obtained using structured questionnaire from 400 facilities in three districts in the Greater Accra region. A multi-stage sampling procedure was used to select the health facilities including retail medicine outlets. Information on the registration status of the RDTs and conditions under which they were stored were gathered. RDTs kept in air conditioned or well-ventilated rooms were considered as being stored under good condition. RDTs, registered by the FDA and appropriately stored were considered to be of good quality. Data was coded, stored, and analyzed using STATA version 15. Results: About 17% of the malaria RDTs stocked in the pharmacies were unregistered, 85.7% in hospitals were registered. Also, 83.3% of HIV RDTs in the Policlinics were registered. Registration status of the RDTs were associated with the districts in which the health facilities were located (p = 0.006). The RDTs were generally stored under good conditions (99.5%). Over forty percent (41.9%) of user practitioners interviewed rated the quality of the malaria RDTs as good and 59.2% rated HIV RDTs as very good. Conclusion: Though there were some unregistered RDTs whose quality cannot be ascertained, the quality of malaria and HIV RDTs in the facilities assessed were rated as good and likely to produce good results for malaria and HIV case detection.

The study aims to determine the hydrologic properties of an aquifer of Malamawi Island in terms of transmissivity, storage coefficient, and specific discharge using the Theis method. The study was conducted in March of 2015. The 4 inches 2- boreholes are drilled in two different locations (Diki and Santa Barbara villages) to identify the lithologic properties. A pumping test was performed for forty-five (45) minutes and, drawdowns are observed from the observation well. The shallow aquifer is confined with a transmissivity of 1.70 m2/d, storage coefficient of 0.001012, and specific discharge of 6.53 m2/d.

Several studies on the disappearance and monitoring of natural resource dynamics on a global scale show a general trend towards the disappearance of natural areas. Protected areas are not immune to this scourge. Thus, this study attempts to analyze the management of protected areas in Côte d Ivoire through the Kani-red Bandama classified forest. Overall, the study aims to assess the impact of human practices on the resources of this classified forest. As activities, the aim is to characterize the dynamics of land use in the classified forest and to determine the factors of these dynamics. The study is based on satellite images (Landsat 5 TM, Landsat 7 ETM+ and Landsat 8 OLI-TIRS) from 1986, 2001 and 2016, cartographic and socio-demographic data, and field observations. The preferred tools for data processing and analysis are remote sensing and GIS. The results show that natural areas under the effect of human actions are undergoing very advanced degradation. In 15 years, natural areas have given way to agricultural areas which have increased from 1% to more than 30% with an intensification of cashew nut cultivation resulting in the multiplication of cashew nut orchards. The classified forest of Kani red Bandama is under the influence of human activities reflected by the infiltration of agricultural settlers and breeders whose opposing uses of natural resources lead to conflicts.

To evaluate the effect of DHCA used in aortic surgery on long-term quality of life. Methods: In this observational case series we included a total of 24 patients who had aortic arch surgery requiring DHCA in the Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital Cardiac Surgery center, from January 2019 to December 2020. Seven patients were excluded due to intrahospital death. For the rest of the patients Quality of life (QOL) was evaluated using RAND SF36 questionnaire and MMSE test. Data regarding demographics, clinical characteristics, surgery type, duration of circulatory arrest, rectal and bladder temperatures were collected and analyzed using the SPSS 23 Statistics software IBM SPSS Statistics 21 (IBM Corporation, NY, USA).

The article examines the development of higher education in Uzbekistan in the era of the third Renaissance in accordance with international standards, based on the effectiveness of the teacher of higher education. Qualification requirements for higher education teachers and methodological bases of their formation are studied. Theoretical features of the qualification requirements for teachers of higher education and their issues of teacher-student tradition and distance learning methods are analyzed on the basis of educational regulations, pedagogical heritage and scientific and pedagogical research.

Background: to assess smoking habits and investigate any impact of smoking on COVID-19 susceptibility and symptom development. Study design: a cross-sectional study. Methods: A total of 1642 participants volunteered and took part in answering the questionnaire. Information about the level of knowledge on COVID-19, smoking habits, and COVID-19-related symptoms of participants were collected using an online questionnaire. Results: The study revealed that a very high percentage of the Lebanese population, especially males, are smokers. Smoking was independent of age and level of education; however, we detected a shift in preference among the younger smokers from cigarette to shisha smoking. We did not detect any influence of smoking, level of education, or geographical location on the probability of contracting COVID-19. COVID-19 patients who are also shisha smokers were significantly more likely to experience severe body pain and speaking and moving difficulty compared to cigarette smokers. In addition, infected shisha smokers who used artificial coal as a burning agent were more likely to experience loss of smell and taste compared to those that used natural coal. Conclusions: Shisha smokers, and especially those that use artificial coal, may be at a higher risk of developing more severe symptoms of COVID-19 and possibly other respiratory-related illnesses. The increased tendency of the younger generations to smoke shisha is alarming

The main objective of this study was to identify, evaluate, and to measure the attributes of financial capacity through the qualitative indicators of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Hanoi. The study was based on a field survey using a semi structured questionnaire on a sample of 150 accountants. But, only 115 filled questionnaires were satisfactory and therefore included in the analysis. By using seceral statistical analytical tools, i.e. descriptive statistics, Cronbach’s Alpha analysis, T-test, and Anova, the study has identified and measured four (4) attributes of financial capacity through qualitative indicators of SMEs in Hanoi that have great effects on SMEs. There is, statistically, significant difference in the level of financial capacity through qualitative indicators of SMEs in Hanoi from these different work experiences. There is not, statistically, significant difference in the level of financial capacity through qualitative indicators of SMEs in Hanoi between the mentioned three groups of job description. Based on the findings, some recommendations are given for SMEs to improve financial capacity.

This piece of work was conducted to investigate the genetic improvement of body weight (BW) in Black Bengal goat (BBG) in-situ through a community based breeding program under a low input production system. Data on a total of 466 individuals from three villages; Gangatia, Borochala and Pachpai at Bhaluka upazila in Mymensingh district from 2009 to 2015 with three progressive generations were taken for this work. Two breeding strategies (BS); mating among selected superior bucks and does (denoted as BS1) and mating existing does with selected superior bucks (denoted as BS2) were followed for mating plan of the community breeding program. A control or test group with mating among existing bucks and does (denoted as BS3) were also observed to compare with treatment groups. Phenotypic performance and genetic parameters for BW traits were studied. Data were analyzed by SPSS 17.0 and VCE 4.2.5. The average BW at birth, 3-month, 6-month, sexual maturity, 9-month, and 12-month were 1.42±0.03, 5.14±0.07, 8.48±0.17, 9.88±0.16, 11.75±0.16 and 15.19±0.16 kg, respectively, having significant effect for sex (p<0.05-p<0.001), generation (p<0.001) and BS (p<0.001). The heritability estimates for BW traits were medium ranging from 0.45 to 0.57. The genetic correlation (rg) and phenotypic correlation (rp) for BW traits were positive with low to high strengths (0.02 to 0.99 for rg and 0.17** to 0.99** for rp). The average realized responses due to selection in three progressive generations for BW traits varied from 0.123 to 0.480 kg per generation. It may be concluded that community based breeding program with selected superior bucks and does is very rationale under low input production system, as it improved BW in progressive generations. However, estimates of heritability and rg indicated further scope of improvement by continuous culling of inferior does and bucks in breeding program.

Of these, Chinese, which is close to the amorphous category, is illustrated with examples.

Prior research mentioned internal control as a useful management alternative to improve enterprises’ operation performance and information quality. According to Trenery (2013) internal control can be fundamentally divided into two functions of operating and accounting internal control. The paper aims to identify the determinants of accounting internal control effectiveness that are addressed in existing literature review. Primary data was collected from samples of 109 members of board of directors and chief accountants in Vietnam by direct interview and email survey. The data was analyzed using exploratory factor analysis of SPSS software to illustrate the potential factors of accounting internal control effectiveness. The result shows that there are several determinants of accounting internal control effectiveness such as: good financial ratio, efficient resources deployed, errors found in the financial reports that are convergent into three specific groups of factors, namely: effectiveness and efficiency of accounting activities, reliability of financial reporting and compliance with law and accounting regulations. Based on the research findings, some suggestions are given to enterprises in Vietnam and other emerging markets to improve the effectiveness of accounting internal control.

This article provides information on the problem of continuity and continuity in the teaching of mathematics and the extent to which it is provided in education. The concepts of continuity and continuity in education are explained in terms of topics in mathematics. The consistent, sequential, coherent placement of mathematical knowledge and its delivery to students is demonstrated by explaining the topics. This means that if a sequence is not maintained in any subject, that is, if the acquired knowledge does not complement the initial knowledge, if it is not enriched in content, if it is not interconnected, it does not form a certain understanding in the student and shows the effectiveness of such teaching. Also, factors influencing the implementation of state educational standards based on the competency approach introduced in our schools have been developed.

For quality education in any country, teacher education should be given utmost priority. In Nigeria, teacher education is still battling with the problem of sustainability owing to the questionable process of training and professionalising teaching. This paper critically examines the process of teacher education. It queries the ideas of a qualitative teacher education. The paper utilises unstructured interview among selected personnel of Nigeria Teachers’ Institute (NTI), Teachers Registration Council (TRC) for its findings. From these findings, it is inferred that government and its agencies have cogent roles to play in promoting sustainable teacher education in Nigeria. The paper therefore concludes that sustainable teacher education for the 21st century can only be guaranteed if teaching is seen and treated as profession like others in its ilk.

Nicotinic acid is used to treat dyslipidemia from the past few decades. Nicotinic acid has the capability to increase plasma HDL cholesterol concentration, and so it is being used as a potential pharmacological agent. Nicotinic acid has an unwanted side effect called flushing, which effect the patients compliance as this is unpleasant . With the help of receptor GPR109A for nicotinic acid it is possible to understand the underlying mechanism of action and effects of nicotinic acid, and this helped in maximizing the potential pharmacological effects of nicotinic acid and reducing the flushing side effects.GPR109A is a G protein coupled receptor which is activated by nicotinic acid (NA).The role of GPR109A receptor in the efficacy of nicotinic acid is discussed in this paper.

In addition, the author discusses the issues that should be brought to the attention of the prosecutor involved in the trial of this category of criminal cases, the liability for such actions and the prevention of illegal migration.

The study examined the relationship amid Non-life insurance premiums and economic growth in Nigeria for the period 1981–2017. The study measured fire premium, Accident premiums, Motor vehicle premium, Marine premiums and miscellaneous premiums as proxies for Insurance sector premiums while Real Gross Domestic Products was used as proxy for Economic growth for the said periods under review. In the course of the study, data were obtained from the website of Central Bank Statistical bulletin and annual report of NIA digest. The Phillips Perron type was used to test for unit root. The Autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) and Bounds test was used to estimate the short and long run relationships. This study found a positive relationship at some lag periods amid the independent variables and the dependent variable. However, the relationships were not significant both at the short run and long run. Insurance firms should leverage on fire and accident insurance policies to boost high premiums. Adequate public awareness and education should be carried out by insurance firms to enable members of the public to enter into insurance contract. Strong legal framework should be introduced to protect the insured to claim indemnity at the event of litigation arising from insurance contract disputes. Government should make legislations that would encourage individuals and business organizations to hold insurance policies with the aim of pooling insurance premiums for economic growth.

This study examined the fiscal decentralization-economic growth nexus in Nigeria, with the objective of establishing the causal relationship between measures of fiscal decentralization and economic growth covering the period 1981-2019. Employing the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) technique of econometrics, the analyses revealed that fiscal decentralization variables employed in the study vis-a-vis federal government, state government and local government expenditures have a positive and significant impact on economic growth in Nigeria except for local government expenditure which was not significant at any level. This behaviour is adduced to be a function of poor governance, corruption and other underlying structural challenges at that level. Also, it was observed that while real GDP has a positive and significant impact on private consumption expenditure, its impact on unemployment was not significant at any level. The study therefore concludes that the nature and pattern of growth in Nigeria has not been inclusive. Consequently, it is recommended that fiscal relations governing the different tiers of government be reviewed to meet existing realities while coordinated fiscal policy measures and improved governance will enhance growth and the fiscal space in the country.

Long-term changes in the plant biomass of the dried bottom of the Aral Sea and the Karakalpak part of the Ustyurt plateau were determined. Despite the drying of the Aral Sea 50 years ago, primary and intermediate stages of vegetation haloseries dominated by annual and shrub halophyte fraction remains as the main directing force of succession. The emergence and increase in the area of "zero" or arid local territories after the 1990s is observed in the central, especially southern part of the Karakalpak Ustyurt. In contrast to the formation of vegetation on the drained bottom of the Aral Sea, long-term changes in the biomass of various natural-territorial complexes of Ustyurt are characterized by a negative correlation with a reduction in the area of mirrors over the past 30 years.
